Pre-course meeting: Web 2.0 Skill Introduction and Development
This activity will occur prior to the start of the university led science course and will provide an orientation for teachers on the lesson development process, resources and tools.
At the beginning of each workshop, we will provide you with a printable workshop task worksheet like the one pictured on the right.
Please print out the worksheet before you get started to keep track of what you have done and what you need to complete.

You will be assigned a partner based on a random draw. Meet up with your partner. Share one computer/laptop for this activity. Watch a Rube Goldberg Machine
1. Create a group name based upon your assigned machine.
2. Write an engaging photo/video headline.
3. Spend 15 minutes analyzing the forms of energy used to make your machine work.
What is the trigger that starts the machine?
How many different forms of energy are used to operate the machine? Provide statistics.
What is the most important form of energy used by the machine?
4. Post your group name and headline on your group wiki page.
